
Originally tasked with making a single colouring page for the G.J. sales team to hand out, this project soon took on a life of its own. I pitched the idea that the building process is an adventure for the children as well as their parents. This book should join the family on their journey as they build their new home.
I wrote and designed the entire book and then brought the incredibly talented Mary on to bring it to life. We also incorporated Jesse minds blowing mouth drawing into the pages.
While researching for this book I noticed that many other publications talked down the A personal goal of mine while creating the Adventure Book was to avoid treating the children like idiots
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
